There’s always a time limit on a reading by a psychic medium, whether it’s 10-minutes or one-hour. Here’s how to make the most of your time—straight from those who know—the psychic mediums, themselves!
You’ll see in the tips below that many of our psychic mediums give similar advice for a successful psychic reading–but with their own twist. That says to me that if you’re a gifted psychic, you understand how to give an accurate reading, and your client (the person being read) can know what to expect. And that’s why these similarities come through.
So how can you make the most of a psychic reading?
Psychic Medium Marie Gilbert
- If you need to connect with a specific person, bring a photo (one on your cell phone is fine) so I can see your loved one’s eyes.
- Consider bringing an “artifact” from your loved one like a ring, necklace, or keychain; something the person used a lot. It helps me zero in on your loved one.
- If you’re dealing with a particular problem and need immediate guidance, and you’re at one of Tobi’s events or any event offering short readings, tell me as soon as you sit down with me. If you’re dealing with something that needs an immediate solution, this will help me help you.
Psychic Medium Rebecca Boothroyd
- Be patient with your psychic because we are getting messages from Spirit where they need to lower their vibrations, and we have to raise ours to connect. Some spirits that come through are new at it and send a lot of information that may not make any sense. Be sure to be open to receiving whatever is said even if the reading seems to be completely off.
- Make sure you are not dealing with anything serious or pressing before a reading. If you just had an argument, or are upset with someone or something, or anything else that happens before your reading, it can throw the whole thing off, and you could have a reading that makes no sense because of what you were dealing with prior to sitting down. If you choose to, we could use your reading to talk about your current situation. It’s your reading! Use it in any way that works best for you.
- Keep an open mind during your reading. You don’t know all the ins and outs of the people coming through even if you think you do. So you may hear things that surprise you but can still be true. Understand that just because you are not hearing what you want from the reading doesn’t mean it’s not accurate.
Psychic Medium & Pet Medium Jean Ramalho
- We never remember everything, especially during what could be an emotional psychic reading, or “reunion” with a special loved one. I suggest either bringing a pen and paper to write down what we discuss, or simply using your phone to record our conversation. Just let me know if you’re recording.
- Just like for a reading with a human loved one who’s passed, if you’d like to connect with a beloved furbaby who has crossed the Rainbow Bridge, bring a picture or a collar or favorite toy.
Psychic Medium Margaret Phillips
- Keep an open mind. The reading is designed to help you, but can only do so if your mind is open to the possibilities before you. A lot of times we shortchange ourselves and block our blessings by saying/thinking “that stuff never happens to me.” How do you know that the Universe doesn’t have something great planned for you if you don’t allow it to come into your space?
- Follow suggestions. Our Angels and loved ones know what is in our best interest and won’t steer us wrong. Even if the suggestion makes you uncomfortable, do it anyway with the faith that it is for your greatest good.
- If you are getting a medium reading, talk with your loved one and express your thoughts/concerns. Don’t get overly fixated with “tell me something only they would know.” Give the reader time to be the messenger of the conversation. As the reader does the reading, your loved one’s personality will come through and you will find yourself saying/thinking “that sounds just like them.” You won’t need a specific piece of evidence to prove it’s authentic. The reading will do that on its own and you will get more value from the reading by letting it unfold as you voice your thoughts/concerns instead of wasting valuable time proving it’s authentic. Again, the evidence will come on its own.
Psychic Oracle Dianne Bivins
- Prepare to receive messages needed right now from Spirit. If you wanted a message from Auntie and her old neighbor who watched you grow up comes through, it might seem strange, but it’s the one you need!
- Don’t cross your arms or legs. Keep them open to allow the energy flow.
Psychic Medium Kristy Carr McAdams
- Expect a positive experience! Before you go to the psychic, it’s helpful to research and find out if they offer what you are looking for and how they discern the information for you. There are many kinds of psychics and different spiritual tools used to access insights. For example: Some readers use tarot cards, others may use oracle decks. Maybe you’d prefer an angel card reading to a tea leaf reading? Pendulum to runes? The reader you choose should have information available about their methods and be open to discussing it with you if you aren’t familiar with their techniques. They definitely want you to be informed ahead of time so that you can be fully receptive during the session.
- When you sit down for your reading, body language is important! A natural tendency is to cross the arms in front of the abdomen, as an instinctual energetic protection. For you to get the most of your reading though, it’s best to share your energy. Keep your arms unfolded and legs/feet uncrossed to open up your energy for the Psychic.
Psychic Medium Beth O’Brien
- Be open minded. Let the walls down so the energy flows through. Have a question or two you want answered? Let the reader know whether what she is telling you makes sense to you.
- Bring a pen and paper to write down notes from your reading because you might forget what the psychic tells you. Or, you can also record it.
Kim Konefsky
- Kim is a valued member of the Franks & Beans Team who is connected to the psychic community. She always recommends that if you’d like to communicate with a loved one or pet who has passed, please invite him, her or them to join you at the reading!
- Just remember, the loved one you invite won’t always come through. There is never a guarantee. So invite them, for sure, but be open to another person or pet who may come through with a message for you that you weren’t expected, but that you need.
